Dear Ms. Perez,
Floyd is a young, naive boy who is often times paralyzed by a severe case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. His life
is plagued with ridicule from fellow classmates but his concentration on organization offers him a distraction. However, his
ability to control his mental state crumbles when he finds himself in love for the first time. What will happen when he
realizes he can’t stay within his perfectly structured world?
This is a synopsis of a middle grade manuscript I have written called O.C.D. and the Cosmic Influence. I would like
to send you this manuscript for consideration for publication. Floyd is a character worth reading about. His thoughts and
antics are both ridiculous and endearing. The reader will be rooting for him until the end and sympathize with him when
things don’t go his way.
I am a new to the professional writing community but I do not come unprepared. I am a Writing Arts Major at Rowan
University. One of my pieces was accepted by Avant, Rowan’s literary magazine. In my studies I have taken a class on
writing stories for children. In this class I learned that I enjoy writing for this audience. And to be honest, I still enjoy reading
children’s books.
Thank you for your consideration,
